"THE DECONSTRUCTION OF DR. JACK SHEPHARD"

Nearly two months ago, I had written this ARTICLE about the Jack Shephard character from ABC's "LOST".

I didn't like Ana-Lucia because the character felt useless, the acting was terrible, and the character herself was abrasive and obnoxious. She wasn't a leader, she was a bully.

Also, I have a hard time calling Kate a kidnapper. All she knew about Aaron was that Claire was going to give him up for adoption. She knew nothing of Claire's home life. All she knew was that Claire would rather give her baby to strangers than somebody in her own family. Claire left Aaron in the bushes and disappeared. Going by what Kate knew, I'm not gonna lie...I might've done the same.

BLARLGHAGH another edit sorry >.< Anyway. I don't hate Jack. There are certain episodes where he irritates me a bit, but seriously every character has made me go "ugh really?" at one point or another so I don't hold it against him. And I predict some major ass-kicking from Dr. Shepard in the remaining episodes.

I think the writers of Lost have used him as filler way too often, though. I'm kind of sick of his character's flashbacks. It doesn't help that Jack was the focus of Lost's worst episode - Stranger in a Strange Land.

Why are you still making excuses for Kate? She doesn't have an excuse. Even if she knew that Claire was going to give up Aaron for adoption, she didn't know why? Neither her or the Oceanic Six even bothered to inform the authorities of Aaron's true parentage. If they had, Aaron would have been with his grandmother nearly three years earlier. Kate and Jack even found out about Carole Littleton's existence some six months following their return to the States. And both said nothing. Claire leaving Aaron in the jungle (for reasons none of us know and something she seemed to be unaware of) was not an excuse for Kate to claim Aaron as her own.

Kate finally had the guts to admit that she was wrong to keep Aaron. She had admitted this to Claire. If Kate can admit that she did wrong, why can't you?

Not trying to defend her, but wasn't one of the reasons Kate pretended to be Aaron's mother was to protect the island? I suppose they could have said that Claire delivered the baby and then died. I assumed it was a part of their cover story.

I actually see quite a bit of Kate Hate on the Internets. I think she used to be an interesting character, but since the triangle of Season 3 I've been "eh" about her.

Watch the first flashback in Season Four's "The Little Prince". The only reason Kate wanted to claim Aaron as her was she wanted to use him as some kind of emotional solace for losing Sawyer after he had jumped from the helicopter.

I'm not trying to spread Kate Hate. I'm just trying to say what Kate had done with Aaron was wrong. She knows this. She has admitted that she had done Aaron wrong. In fact, her admission of guilt is the reason why I no longer dislike her.
